Oh hello, nice to meet you!
Hi! My name is Brenden and I am a self-taught full stack developer. From the start, I have had an interest in solving problems with software. My first time trying software development was using a "no-code" app service called bubble.io. It was a great gateway into software development, but I realized it didn't get me all the way there in terms of what I wanted to accomplish. I then took the free online Harvard course CS50 which is phenomenal and I would recommend to anyone interested in starting out. It is quite rigorous for an intro course, but a solid foundation. In 2020 I was accepted into a coding boot camp by LaunchCode. LaunchCode is a fantastic nonprofit that provides free education and mentoring for anyone who wants to pursue a software career. Since graduating I have been taking a deep dive into full stack development with Angular, React, Gatsby, Node, Express, and Sanity. I have been able to collaborate on a full stack web app called MealTime with two of my fellow LaunchCode graduates. I am currently a Software Engineer in Support at Accusoft, and continue to work on my development skills in my free time.
I was hired to design and develop a website for a client who needed a central place to display all his content. He has a podcast, several articles, and books and wanted a professional website that he could link to with all of his content on it.
I created the front end with Gatsby JS and used Sanity as the CMS, which allows the client to edit pages and add articles.
